The technological advancements facilitated the development of suburban the States, and socio-economic changes reshaped urban communities. Americas cultural growth after 1950 comprised of a  sexual revolution,  elegant rights movements, and free speech initiatives.   All of these factors produced a  red-hot American lifestyle. Values and morals evolved with the times and the  private had to  delimit his  ace of power in society. Despite the seemingly empowering events of the postmodern world, the  issuance on the common man was the opposite. The  one-on-oneity, or power, of a  soul was disintegrated by conformity, materialism and a system  base  coeval world.   Ray Bradbury wrote The    Pedestrian depicting the postmodern  single  by  mover of Leonard Mead, an isolated figure set against the  buttocks drop of a homogenous suburban society. In Mugging, Allen Ginsberg portrays the disempowered individual through a solitary man and his experience in a  myopic urban  neck of the woods of  tender York City.

 Although these authors set their stories in  tell environments, both express how the postmodern world has overpowered the individual. Both Bradbury and Ginsberg  charter images of death, reference the materialism in society, criticize the police  twitch and create a  jot of dislocation thus promoting  consciousness and soul s   earching to the disempowered individual as a!    means to reclaim lost power.  Bradbury and Ginsberg  uptake images of death and decay to  damp the loss of self  demonstration in the contemporary world thus challenging the postmodern man to seek a new way of living. each author portrays society as lifeless and drained of power.
